Who We Are

What We Stand For

At Women Plan, we believe that empowered women and youth are the foundation of thriving communities. Based in Rwanda, we are a non-governmental, non-profit organization committed to empowering rural women, girls, youth, and families to build equitable, inclusive, and sustainable futures.

Our Mission

Empowering Rural Women, Girls, Youth and Families for Equitable and Sustainable Community.

Our Vision

A just and inclusive society where women, girls, and youth lead positive change in their communities.

Founded in Rwanda, Women Plan is driven by the belief that rural communities when empowered with knowledge, skills, and opportunities can break cycles of poverty, gender inequality, and social exclusion. We work at the grassroots level to promote gender equity, economic independence, education, health, and leadership among rural women, girls, and youth.

Our Approach

What brings all of Women Plan Rwanda’s work together is our focus on local communities. Our cornerstone is community engagement – building solutions for human development in true partnership with those we serve. We strive to leverage the immense promise that already exists in local communities and to ensure that they are active participants in our programming at every step, from design to implementation to evaluation.

Join us as we work hand-in-hand with local communities to create long-lasting change one woman, one girl, one family at a time.
